New Delhi: WWE Smackdown’s newest episode concluded in Golden One Center Arena in Sacramento, California on September 21, Saturday. LA Knight defended his United States title against Andrade El Idolo in the first fight of the night. El Idolo started the match with a double-leg takedown and tried to submit the champion but Knight countered with punches. Then Knight went for the BFT and locked with El Idolo with a wrist lock.
Idolo and Knight exchanged some shots with each other which made the fight exciting. Knight threw his knee to the midsection of Idolo, then Knight hit Idolo’s head on the commentator’s table. Knight was overpowering El Idolo with a slingshot shoulder tackle but Idolo kicked out for a two count. El Idolo fought back and threw Knight over the ring, then Idolo sent Knight into the steel posts but Knight kicked out for two.
Knight whipped the Idolo’s chest and countered with a combination, and then hit his head on the turnbuckle. Idolo again countered with MoonSault and then a Shotgun Meteora but Knight kicked out. Knight then escaped from Idolo’s Missile dropkick and hit his signature move BFT to retain his US championship and win the match by pinfall.
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns shared the ring before their match on WWE Bad Blood. Reigns got a standup ovation from the fans and the Tribal chief announced that this ring is his field and this is his city. Reigns also trolled his teammate Rhodes that this will be a lose-lose situation for him. He has everything to lose in the fight because Reigns has nothing to lose as his Bloodline family kicked him from the family and now he is in a nothing-to-lose situation.
