WWE’s Rhea Ripley at AEW Grand Slam in Australia? Viral photo sparks debate on social media

New Delhi: AEW’s Grand Slam event in Brisbane made headlines for more than just its matches. Reports suggest that WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was in attendance, supporting her husband, AEW’s Buddy Matthews. However, a viral photo claiming to show her at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre has sparked a major debate among fans.

AEW’s first-ever event in Australia took place at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, with Kazuchika Okada defending his AEW Continental Championship against Buddy Matthews in one of the night’s key matches.

Given that Matthews is married to Ripley, many expected her to be in town for the show. Fightful Select reported that Ripley was indeed present, but there was no official confirmation from AEW or Ripley herself.

The discussion took off when multiple fans at the venue claimed they had seen her, and soon after, a blurry image surfaced online. Many insisted that the person in the picture was Ripley, while others were less convinced. Ringside News later reported that while Ripley was at the event, there was no clear proof linking her to the viral photo.

Was Rhea Ripley really present at AEW Grand Slam Australia?

Ripley, who hails from Australia, last wrestled in her home country during WWE’s Elimination Chamber event in Perth last year. Given her connection to Matthews and AEW’s debut in Australia, it wouldn’t be shocking if she attended. However, the ongoing debate over the photo has kept fans guessing.

Some believe the image confirms her presence at the AEW show, while others argue it lacks clarity. The mystery remains unresolved, as neither Ripley nor AEW have addressed it publicly.

Beyond the speculation, AEW Grand Slam Australia faced its own controversies. Originally set for Suncorp Stadium, the event was relocated to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, causing frustration among high-paying ticket holders. Despite this, AEW boss Tony Khan described it as one of the company’s biggest international events.

With Ripley’s appearance still uncertain, fans continue to analyse the viral image. If clearer proof emerges, it will only add more intrigue to the story.
