New Delhi: A month after asking for a No Objection Certificate from the Mumbai Cricket Association to switch his state cricket team, Yashasvi Jaiswal has made a dramatic U-turn. The left-handed opening batter asked the MCA for a NOC to make a surprise switch from Mumbai to Goa in April citing personal reasons.
Now, a month later, the 23-year-old has written an email to the MCA to withdraw his NOC and said he is available to represent Mumbai for the next domestic season.
As per a report in the Indian Express, Jaiswal, in a mail, mentioned the reason for his change of mind.
“I the undersigned would request your goodself to consider my request in withdrawing my NOC given to me as I had some family plans in shifting to Goa which for now has been curtailed ! So I sincerely request MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai this season ! I have not submitted the NOC to BCCI nor to Goa Cricket Association,” Jaiswal mail MCA, which The Indian Express claimed was assessed by them.
The MCA hasn’t decided on Jaiswal’s fate yet.
Jaiswal’s dramatic U-turn after dropping a bombshell news
Jaiswal, in April, took MCA officials by surprise when he sought an NOC to move to Goa. The Rajasthan Royals star had cited personal reasons behind his move to shift his base.
If Jaiswal had gone forward with his plans to shift his base to Goa, he would have followed the likes of Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad to leave Mumbai and play for Goa.
Besides citing personal reasons for his planned move to Goa, Jaiswal was also tempted by the potential leadership role in the state side.
The India opener has enjoyed a sensational start to his Test career and has already slammed four centuries and 10 half-centuries in just 19 appearances. He was also the best performer in India’s pervious Test series, smashing one century and two half-centuries in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
In a dramatic U-turn move, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who in April, took MCA officials by surprise when he sought an NOC to move to Goa, has decided to stay with Mumbai state side. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
