New Delhi: Legendary pacer James Anderson drew curtains to his 21-year-long Test career after playing 188 matches for England. He picked up 704 wickets and ended his career as third third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket after Shane Warne (708) and Muthiah Muralidaran (800).
Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar penned down a heartfelt note to James Anderson on his official X account, who took Tendulkar’s wicket nine times in the longest format of the game. Tendulkar said that Anderson inspired generations with his game and wished him a wonderful life with good health and happiness.

Anderson took 4 wickets in his last Test match and ended his career on a high as England defeated West Indies by an innings and 114 runs at The Lord’s in London.

Anderson after the match thanked the crowd for the overwhelming response and said that he tried to win games for England every time he wore the shirt “It’s been an amazing 20 years. Overwhelming to see the crowd reaction. It has been pretty special. Every time I wear this shirt I tried to win games for England. Has been different. Emotions have been up and down. Seeing my girls ring the bell on Day 1. It has been an amazing 20 years” Anderson said.
He also thanked his family and said that winning in Australia and India was really special “It’s the familys journey as well as it is ours. As I mentioned, winnings series and Test matches are the only thing I will be interested in. Winning in Australia, India and contributing to those wins is really, really special” Anderson added.
