Selim Salau lights up Nigeria innings

Batting first at the Lagos’ Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval, Selim Salau lit up the stage with a blazing knock of 112 off just 53 balls, loade with 13 boundaries and two maximums. Apart from his lethal innings, Sulaimon Runsewe and Isaac Okpe too contributed in the wrath, with the former scoring 50 off 29 balls while the latter scoring 65 off 23 balls as Nigeria posted a massive score of 271/4 – the highest-ever score of the tournament.

This was the first single-digit score in the men’s T20Is. The defeat of 264 runs now happens to be the third-largest margin in the format, trailing Zimbabwe’s 290-run victory Gambia in October and Nepal’s 273-run win over Mongolia at the 2023 Asian Games.
