New Delhi: The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 is all set to kick off on November 23, Saturday. A total of 38 teams are competing for the glory, the teams are divided into five groups each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Quarter-finals of the tournament.
The top stars in the tournament are Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Hardik Krunal Pandya, and many more. Mohammed Shami will be in action after the injury for the first time in T20 format. Hardik will be playing under his elder brother Krunal for Baroda.
Punjab are the defending champions of SMAT and Abhishek Sharma leading the side. Arshdeep Singh and Ramandeep Singh are also included in the Punjab squad. SMAT will be the stage for youngsters to showcase their talent and fetch big bucks in the IPL mega auction 2025.
On the first day of SMAT, Tilak Verma scored a dashing hundred against Meghalaya and this is his third century in T20s in the last few days.
