New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction kicked off with a bidding war between franchises. The bidding war that pulled everybody’s attention was between Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner Kavya Maran and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta as both iconic ladies went into a bidding war for Arshdeep Singh.
Zinta and Maran are both known for their fiery bidding battles and their battle started in the first buy of the day. Arshdeep Singh came in first place in the mega auction, he was the hottest property in the Indian bowling options.
Arshdeep was released by PBKS but they started the bid for him, while Kavya was sitting quietly early in the bids. Preity was battling with Chennai Super Kings early on but Kavya made her first move with a bid of 15.75 crore.
Kavya drew the first blood by sealing the deal in getting Arshdeep for 15.75 crore and won the battle against Zinta. Zinta didn’t hold back as she used the RTM card on Arshdeep and everybody thought Arshdeep was heading back to Punjab.
Kavya made the final twist as she raised the bid from 15.75 crores to 18 crore and asked Zinta to match her bid and took away Arshdeep and finally, Zinta won the battle by using their RTM card to get their ace pacer back in the hut.
Rishabh Pant becomes most expensive player in IPL history
Rishabh Pant created history by becoming the most expensive player in IPL history. Lucknow Super Giants bought Pant for a whopping price of 27 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad and LSG both fought for Pant and LSG bought him for 20.75 crore but Delhi Capitals used an RTM card on him.
LSG directly increased the price of Pant from 20.75 crores to 27 crores, which Capitals didn’t match the bid and Lucknow bought him for a whopping price of 27 crores.
