New Delhi: According to Real Madrid, a young person who harassed the team’s striker, Vinicius Junior, on the basis of race has been fined and banned from the stadium for a year. Last season, the incident happened during a La Liga match versus Rayo Vallecano. According to the Spanish champions, the kid had acknowledged his transgression, sent Vinicius a letter of apology, and agreed to the punishment imposed by the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office. The State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance in Sport levied the secret sum.
In keeping with their goal of prosecuting every supporter found guilty of racially insulting any of their players, Real Madrid have confirmed that the offender will pay a fine. Regretfully, Vinicius has endured frequent abuse in La Liga, and two Valencia supporters were imprisoned in June for their involvement in racist shouting.

The club stated that the minor who made racist remarks towards Vinicius Junior during the Rayo Vallecano vs. Real Madrid game on February 18, 2024, at the Vallecas stadium wrote Vinicius Junior a letter of apology. He expressed regret for his actions and agreed to participate in the socio-educational activities requested by the Prosecutor’s Office for Minors in the juvenile jurisdiction as a result of the out-of-court agreement. Additionally, the minor has agreed to refrain from attending stadiums where official competitions are held for a year.
He will also have to pay the monetary penalty imposed by the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance in Sport for his actions. Since last June, four court cases—all in criminal or juvenile jurisdiction—have resulted in the punishment of those responsible for the intolerable racist crimes against Real Madrid players that took place at various sports arenas as well as in forums and on social media.
Real Madrid and the players have participated in these processes as private prosecutors, and they are actively pursuing more defendants. They will keep working to uphold the club’s principles and end racism in the football and sports industries.
