New Delhi: Former India pacer Ajit Agarkar is celebrating his 47th birthday on Wednesday, December 04. One of the finest pacers to have played for India, Agarkar enjoyed a successful white-ball career and achieved some incredible feats for India at the highest level. The former pacer is currently serving as the head of India’s senior national men’s selection panel.
Agarkar made his debut for India in an ODI against Australia in April 1998 and it took him no time to establish his credentials as a match-winner with the bat and ball for the country. Agarkar went on to complete 50 wickets in just 23 ODIs and six months after his debut to create history by becoming the fastest Indian to achieve the feat.
There was no stopping Agarkar in white-ball cricket after the stellar start to his career as he became a vital cog in India’s bowling line-up. He played 191 ODIs, 26 Tests and 4 T20Is in his international career, picking up 288, 58 and 3 wickets in the three formats, respectively.
