Champions Trophy 2025 fixtures announced: India to play all matches in Dubai

New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Champions Trophy 2025 fixtures along with groupings of the eight-team tournament.  The mega-event is set to begin on 19 February in Karachi while the final will be played on 9 March in Lahore. The tournament will feature 15 matches that will be played across Pakistan and in Dubai.

Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi will be the three venues in Pakistan to host the matches. Each venue in the country will feature three group games each, with Lahore playing host to the second semi-final.

India and Pakistan will lock horns on February 23 in Dubai.

Lahore will host the final unless India qualify for the summit clash. If that happens, the final will be played in Dubai. ICC have kept reserved days for both the semi-finals and the final.

A blockbuster tournament awaits fans

India’s three group matches as well as the first semi-final, will be played in Dubai. The tournament will begin with Pakistan taking on New Zealand in Group A in Karachi on 19 February a day before the Dubai leg begins with India taking on Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Group B action begins on February 21 with the blockbuster match between Afghanistan and South Africa in Karachi.

The first weekend will witness high-octane clashes between arch-rivals England and Australia, who will face off in Lahore on Saturday (22 February). A day later in a Super Sunday clash, India and Pakistan will reignite their rivalry in Dubai.

The eight teams, which are competing for the famous white winners’ Champions Trophy jackets finished in the top eight positions on the points table of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 to qualify for the comeback-toournament. The CT is returning to the cricket calendar after a gap of seven years. Pakistan are the defending champions, having won the final of the 2017 edition against India.

Group A comprises defending champions and co-hosts Pakistan, along with India, New Zealand and Bangladesh. Group B features ODI World Cup champions Australia along with Afghanistan, England and South Africa.
