New Delhi: Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer on Sunday was appointed as the new captain of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Punjab Kings (PBKS) for the IPL 2025 season this year. The move comes after the Mumbai-born player led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their third title in the last season.
Iyer has led in 70 matches in the IPL, having won 38 matches and lost 29 with a win percentage 56.52. He assumed the captaincy role for the first time for Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) after Gautam Gambhir stepped down in the middle of the season.
