New Delhi: After returning home from Australia, India all-rounder Nitish Reddy visited the Tirupati temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Nitish enjoyed an impressive debut for Team India in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and was one of the finds of the series for the visitors. The all-rounder couldn’t contribute much with the ball but impressed with his batting in the lower middle order.

Nitis produced some crucial knocks for India under pressure in the five-match Test series and also went on to notch up his maiden Test ton in the Boxing Day Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). However, his heroics were not enough as India ended up losing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 3-1.

Nitish shared snippets of his visit to the Tirupati temple on his Instagram story. In a video, the all-rounder can be seen climbing the temple’s stairs on his knees. The clip has gone viral on social media with fans appreciating the young all-rounder’s devotional side after his heroics in the Test series against Australia.

Earlier, Nitish received a hero’s welcome in Visakhapatnam after returning from Australia. The India all-rounder saw a sea of fans greet him at the airport along with jubilant family members and the media. In videos that emerged on social media, Nitish can be seen seated in an open jeep with his father Mutyalu Reddy with yellow petals being showered on them as the caravan moved through the streets of Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam, Nitish’s hometown.

Nitish scored his maiden Test ton with his father watching from the stands in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG. It was an emotional moment for his father, who made multiple sacrifices in his professional and personal life to give Nitish a chance to pursue his dream of playing for India.

Nitish Reddy part of India’s T20I squad for England series

Nitish will return to action for India soon as he part of the hosts’ squad for their upcoming five-match T20I series against England. The T20I series will get underway on January 22 followed by a three-match ODI series which will kick off on February 06. India are yet to announce their squad for the ODI series against England and it remains to be seen if Nitish will be selected for the ODI rubber.
