Atletico Madrid defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 in the Champions League, capping an incredible comeback! After Barrios’ careless challenge in the first half reduced Atletico to 10 men, they had a challenging job for the remainder of the match. Alonso’s team took the lead just before halftime when Hincapie headed home from a cross from Mukiele. Alvarez raced through on goal and fired into the bottom corner to give Atletico the equalizer after the interval.
Both teams were reduced to 10 men when Hincapie was sent off after receiving a second yellow card later in the half. It was an end-to-end contest as the game began to unfold, but the Spanish team ended up winning. Correa played Alvarez in behind the Leverkusen defense, and he went smoothly around the goalie before putting the ball into an empty net. Both the match and Atletico’s incredible comeback were exciting. While Leverkusen will host Sparta Prague, the La Liga team in the competition will travel to Salzburg the next week.
Bologna 2-1 Borussia Dortmund

One of the shock results from tonight, or should we call it a not so shocking ressult, considering how Dortmund have been playing, was Bologna defeating the Germans 2-1. Dortmund were in the lead after half time although they were not winning by a convincing margin after Guirassy’s penalty that meant he scored his seventh goal in the Champions League this season. Bologna had taken the initiative and been the superior team ever after Guirassy’s penalty kick opened the score.
Before being taken off due to injury, Orsolini posed a threat, as the game steadily drew closer to halftime. However, finally Bologna managed to get what they truly deserved when Dallinga was free to tap in Odgaard’s ball to put Bologna levelled. The Italians didn’t stop there as they found the back of the net again just a minute later, when another substitute made all the difference. Kobel’s stop was converted by Iling-Junior, who was in the box to give Bologna a 2-1 lead. Due to their terrible play, Dortmund were chasing the game at that moment and very little changed after that.
Liverpool 2-1 LOSC Lille

Arne Slot’s Liverpool defeated Lille 2-1 to maintain their lead in the redesigned Champions League, making it seven games and seven victories. Liverpool, who advanced to the past 16 with one game remaining, first found it difficult to escape the tense opening exchanges against Lille, who had won their past 21 games in all competitions. But in the 34th minute, after a brilliant pass from Jones, Salah dinked Chevalier, displaying enough of his signature flair to put the home team up at halftime.
David’s rebound finish in the 62nd minute gave an offensively reserved Lille the equalizer, but Slot’s team’s swift reaction was sufficient to quell the cries from Les Dogues’ away end. Elliott finally kept the perfect European run on track by powering home via a deflection off Mukau only five minutes after the visitors’ goal. That seemed like it at Anfield as znother thrilling game ended in favour of the Reds.

Barcelona managed to win in Lisbon after a wild finish to a night filled with goals and rain-soaked errors at both ends of the field. Before halftime, Barcelona was taken aback by Pavlidis’ hat-trick, which put the home team ahead 3-1 as he punished careless defense and two Szczesny gaffes. After the break, Barcelona was still in the game thanks to a penalty kick from Lewandowski in the first half. Raphinha’s humorous “header” then reduced the distance, but Araujo’s regrettable own goal gave Benfica the lead again.
But Flick’s team continued to fight, and in the last minutes of regular time, Garcia’s header made it 4-4 and Lewandowski scored again from the penalty spot. There would be one last twist, though, as Raphinha sped off to give Barcelona an incredible triumph. A fantastic end to the game where nine goals were sored and there was no shortage of drama till the end.
Club Brugge 0-0 Juventus
Club Brugge and Juventus must split the spoils and settle for a goalless draw as the match concludes all square in Belgium. In actuality, it’s doubtful that these teams would have broken the impasse even if they had played a further ninety minutes. The forwards had virtually little to work with since both defences were determined to stop assaults. Tzolis’ aggressive pressure forced Di Gregorio into a sloppy turnover in the 48th minute, giving Brugge a good start to the second half.
Jutgla missed the mark from behind the penalty spot after Vanaken set him up for a shot into an open net.For most of the game, neither team had managed to obtain a shot on goal, and it wasn’t until the 85th minute when Locatelli created the game’s first. Mignolet had to make a crucial stop as the Italian defender got a few yards of space outside the penalty area and took on the effort from range. Although it was a generally subpar performance, both teams ultimately maintained their four-game winning runs in the Champions League. Brugge slightly exceeded Juventus’ five shots, which was their lowest in this season’s European play, with seven of their own.
As a consequence, Juventus remains in 14th position in the rankings, while Brugge rises to 17th. Next week, Juventus will host Benfica in the Champions League, while Club Brugge will travel to play Manchester City.
Slovan Bratislava 1-3 VfB Stuttgart
Stuttgart managed to win pretty comfortablyin the end against Slovan Bratislava. It was a poor performance in the first half as Slovan were rightfully punished as Leweling scored a goal in the eleventh minute to make it 1-0. On minute 36, he squeezed the ball beneath Takac to add a second. In the second half, Slovan did show more energy and at least managed to get something out of the match when fellow replacement Metsoko finished deftly following some excellent work by Barseghyan.
But shortly after, Rieder slotted home to give Stuttgart a two-goal lead again and clinch the victory. Slovan Bratislava’s seven touches in the opponent box at this level is insufficient. They may be grateful that the score was kept quite decent despite facing 21 shots on goal. Stuttgart now have ten points for the competition, while Slovan are still in last place, one goal above the bottom-place Young Boys.

PSV hold on to secure all three points against Red Star Belgrade, despite a second half comeback from the home side that saw them come close to overturning the 3-0 first half deficit, after PSV were reduced to 10 men. The Dutch side led 3-0 at the break, after goals from De Jong, Til and Flamingo and they looked in complete control until Flamingo was shown a straight red card just after the restart for bringing Radonjic down as the last man.
Red Star started to threaten following the sending off and had several chances to get back into the game, with Ndiaye making it 3-1 on 71 minutes, before Djiga got another a few minutes later to make it a nervy finish. The home team attempted a late equalizer but was unsuccessful, as PSV held on to win the Champions League for the third time this year. With just one match left, against the leaders Liverpool the following week, this victory puts them in 16th place. With just three points separating them from their last matchup against Young Boys on Wednesday, Red Star is still in 31st place.
