New Delhi: New world champion Gukesh Dommaraju maintained his lead at the top of the Tata Steel Chess 2025 with a win over local hope Max Warmerdam in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands.

Gukesh capitalised on a mistake by the Dutch to keep his lead at the top with 7.5 points out of a possible 10 after 10 rounds.

Uzbek Nodirbek Abdusattorov remains second half a point behind (7 points), while R Praggnanandhaa trails by a further half point.

Abdusattorov took big risks to inflict a first loss of the event on Russian Alexey Sarana while Praggnanandhaa bounced back from his last round defeat with a win over another Russian Vladimir Fedoseev.
