New Delhi: Aston Villa have confirmed that Axel Disasi will be making his debut for the club at Villa Park against Ipswich Town. Following the side’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup last weekend, manager Unai Emery has made two changes to his squad. With Ezri Konsa out for a week, Disasi will play alongside Boubacar Kamara at the centre-back.
Disasi is on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season, having made his move during the recently concluded winter transfer period. Disasi had been linked with Tottenham Hotspur but the centre-back ultimately moved to Villa Park. Villa had been interested in Disasi with Diego Carlos making his move to Fenerbahce. For Chelsea, Disasi has played six times in the Premier League this season and has further made 11 appearances in other competitions.

For Chelsea, Disasi mostly featured as a right-back and had even captained the team on many instances in the Conference League. Joining the Blues from Monaco in 2023, the 26-year-old has four-and-half years remaining in his contract.
Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio in the bench for Aston Villa
Aston Villa’s other change includes Ollie Watkins returning from an injury and will replace Leon Bailey. Both Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio are on the bench along with Tyrone Mings who is coming back from a knee injury he sustained during the clash against West Ham.
Asensio is on a loan transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, having made just 12 appearances in Ligue 1 and 17 across competitions this season and will be with the Premier League side until the end of the season. Marcus Rashford is also on a loan move from Manchester United, although with a fallout with Ruben Amorim, the English forward’s return remains uncertain, despite having an impressive start under the Portuguese manager’s tenure.
