New Delhi: Santos FC winger Neymar Jr. has been linked with a comeback to his former club, FC Barcelona. The Brazilian joined Santos FC in the January transfer window after a string of injuries in the Saudi Pro League. Weeks after his move to Brazil, speculation surfaced indicating that Neymar was considering a return to top-level European football. According to Spanish media station Cadena SER, Neymar wants top clubs to bet on him so he can compete for the finest championships once more. According to the same report, Neymar would soon accept an offer from Barcelona above all others. Neymar’s aim is to have one last dance at his former club Barca.
After scoring and assisting a goal in Santos’ 3-1 win against Agua Santa, Neymar clarified his decision to return home. He said, “I didn’t want a long contract because I didn’t know I would come back. I didn’t know how I was going to feel playing. I think anything can happen.” The Brazilian further added that the club is helping him find his form and rediscover joy.

Neymar is one of the most celebrated Brazilian stars at Barcelona due to his magical spell with the Blaugrana between 2013 and 2017. He joined Barca at the age of 21 from Santos for a reported €88 million fee. The Brazilian was also part of the famous Barca trio ‘MSN’ alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. He went on to win various trophies in Spain, including a club treble in 2015.
