New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently honoured the legendary Sachin Tendulkar at its headquarters in Mumbai. The board named one of its rooms at the HQs as “SRT 100” and had Sachin inaugurate it for himself, in the presence of all the dignitaries. The gesture was to recognise the Master Blaster’s immense contributions to Indian cricket.
The board shared the video of the occasion on its social media handle, captioning the post, “Legendary Sachin Tendulkar inaugurates SRT 100 – a Board Room at the BCCI HQ in Mumbai, named to recognise his outstanding contributions to Indian cricket.” In the video, Sachin could be seen cutting the ribbon before entering the special room and engaging in a heartfelt conversation with all the board members present at the scene.
For the unversed, “SRT” stands for Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, his full name, and “100” signifies his unconquered record of 100 centuries in international cricket. To grace the event, BCCI president Roger Binny was present along with vice president Rajeev Shukla and the secretary Devajit Saikia as well.
In the video, Sachin gave a long speech from the bottom of his heart, thanking the BCCI for the warm tribute, and talking in depth about several tours and reminiscing about interesting memories during his time with Team India.
