New Delhi: Former India and CSK captain MS Dhoni is in the headlines after his last Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as the fans are still wondering whether he will play in the next IPL season.
RCB defeated CSK by 27 runs and knocked them out of the playoff race. Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side finished fifth in the IPL points table. The former CSK skipper had a brilliant IPL with the bat, scoring 161 runs at a strike rate of 220.
He scored an unbeaten 37 runs off 16 balls against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. Dhoni smashed Hardik Pandya for three back-to-back in the 20th over against Mumbai Indians (MI) and against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the 42-year-old notched up 28* runs off 9 balls.
After the IPL, Dhoni went on holiday in Paris and spent some quality time with his wife and daughter. His wife Sakshi shared the pictures of holiday on her Instagram handle.
The former captain has a collection of luxurious cars and bikes and is often seen driving them in his hometown Ranchi. Recently, a fan posted a video of Dhoni riding a Yamaha R1-Z wearing a yellow helmet and was seen entering his house in Ranchi.

‘Hopeful that he will play for CSK next season’: CSK CEO
While fans are still waiting for Dhoni’s answer on whether he will play in the next IPL, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that the management is hopeful that Dhoni will be available for CSK next season.
“I do not know. It is a question which only MS can answer. The question for us, we have always respected the decisions taken by MS, we have left it to him. As all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced it at the appropriate time. We do expect that we will get a decision as and when he decides. But we are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK the next year. That is the view and expectations of the fans and mine”. Viswanathan on CSK’s YouTube channel.
