Tony Ferguson teases his comeback in UFC on New Year’s Day

New Delhi: UFC lightweight star Tony Ferguson has fallen in the UFC as he is on an eight-fight losing streak. Ferguson has teased his comeback in the octagon after suffering a heartbreak loss against Michael Chiesa in UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi.

After the loss, Ferguson put his one glove down to the ground but refused to fully commit the retirement. In the post-match interview, Tony told Daniel Cormier “I don’t want to retire”.

Tony teased his comeback in 2025 on his social media but fans demanded please quit the UFC as they didn’t want to see Tony to lose another fight in the UFC. He is one of the most loved fighters in the organisation and fans thought his legacy would be more damage with another loss.

Ferguson moved to lightweight division to Welterweight division and Dana White will be looking for an opponent for Ferguson, if he choose to make his return to the UFC.

Umar Nurmagomedov is all set to face UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311 event. The fight will be in co-main event of the night. Umar suffered an injury late last year and his management doesn’t want him to fight at UFC 311.

Umar refused the coaches’ decision as he is keen to fight before Ramadan which is in March this year. Umar will be fighting the biggest fight of his career. He is unbeaten in his professional MMA career.

Meanwhile, Merab won the title at UFC 306 by defeating Sean O’Malley via unanimous decision in the Sphere. This will be his first title defence after winning the belt last year.
