Hyderabad: Telangana state government on Wednesday released two orders approving Rs 204.85 crore to the Director of Medical Education for civil works at three medical colleges.
This comes after junior doctors working at government hospitals across Telangana went on strike since June 24 demanding better hostels and roads. The doctors after holding talks with Health Department officials till midnight on Tuesday, called off the strike.
The government assured that they would release GOs sanctioning money for hostels and roads at Osmania Medical College, Gandhi and Kakatiya Medical Colleges.
The junior doctors under Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA) said that they would go back on strike if the GOs were not released by Wednesday evening.

Osmania Medical College:
An estimated Rs 80 crore is allotted to the construction of Ladies Hostel at Osmania Medical College, Rs 35 crore for construction of Men’s Hostel, Rs 6 crore for Dental Hospital construction, Rs 50 lakh for renovation and repairs of Boys Hostel, Rs 40 lakh for laying of CC roads in front of Krishanveni ladies hostel.
Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad:
An estimated Rs 42 crore is allocated for the construction of Ladies Hostel at Gandhi Medical College, Rs 23 crores for the construction of Gandhi Men’s Hostel, Rs 14.50 crores for construction of SR Block Hostel in Gandhi,
Kakatiya Medical College, Hanumakonda:
An estimated Rs 2.75 crore is allocated for the laying of CC roads at Kakatiya University.
