TSRTC orders inquiry against bus conductor for misbehaving with woman

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) ordered an inquiry against a bus conductor who reportedly misbehaved with a 21-year-old woman commuting from Manikonda to Himayath Nagar.

Narrating her ordeal on her Twitter (X) account, the woman wrote, “I was travelling in the bus 65M/123. the ticket collector took the chance of the crowded bus and started touching my chest then he directly went down and was touching my private part, I shouted very loudly.

I am 21yr old i was coming back from Manikonda to Himayath Nagar. I took the bus of 65M/123 Mehdipatnam. The bus was very crowded so the collector took chance,” she wrote.

The woman also recorded a video showing the face of the bus conductor and put it on her social media account.

Reacting to the social media post, TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar wrote, “An immediate comprehensive inquiry has been ordered into the incident. Institution will take departmental action against those responsible based on inquiry report.

TGSRTC does not compromise on women’s safety. Providing safe travel facility to an average of over 35 lakh women every day,” he wrote.

Telangana ADGP, Women’s Safety Wing, Shikha Goel also reached out to concerned officials to inquire about the incident.
