Mississippi: A mass shooting in Mississippi left 3 dead and 16 injured on Sunday when an unknown gunman opened fire at a nightclub. The incident occurred just after midnight on Church Street, at a nightclub in Indianola.

Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the incident, and the motive remains unknown.

“Several people said that they were standing out there, and they started to hear gunshots,” Indianola Police Chief Ronald Sampson told a local newspaper.

Mayor Ken Featherstone said the police were yet to identify the motive and no arrests were made in connection to the incident.

Earlier this month on July 3, a similar incident took place in Akron, Ohio where 25 people were shot leaving 1 dead while many victims sustained life-threatening injuries.

This is a developing story and further details are still awaited.
