New Delhi: Marcus Rashford scored Manchester United’s second goal against Southampton, as the Red Devils are going head to head aginst the Saints in the fourth matchday of Premier League 2024/25. In the 41st minute, Ramsdale was unable to reach the ball as the United forward had the time and space on the edge of the box to curl it into the bottom right corner of the net. Southampton’s defense looked extremely lousy as they failed to stop Rashford before he took his shot to score his first goal after 189 days goal drought.
MARCUS RASHFORD THIS.
MARCUS RASHFORD THAT.
SHUT THE F*** UP!
Rashford makes it 2-0, the perfect response after putting in the work across the International break. Couldn’t think of two better players to have scored after all the bullshit of this week. pic.twitter.com/QSEIPanWR3

This was the first time Rashford has scored for the Red Devils since March, 2024 where the English forward scored in United’s 4-3 win against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinal. Two days prior, Rashford shared on Instagram how he planned to dedicate his next goal to a young Man United supporter. The 26-year-old made good on his promise in his subsequent game.

Rashford has had a rough patch in his career where he looked rather wasteful in front of the goal due to which, questions were raised upon his productivity to the United squad. He had a wonderful 2o22/23 campaign where the English forward scored 17 times in the league, but lately his form has looked nowhere close to how it was back in that season.
However, he managed to score a wonderful goal against the Saints to open his tally for the season, and this could be a pivotal moment for him and United as this will certainly give him the confidence to do better the Premier League continues.
