New Delhi: Virat Kohli’s return to Test cricket didn’t go well. He was dismissed cheaply in both innings of the opening Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Hasan Mahmud got his wicket in the first innings for just six runs.
Kohli tried to drive a full outside-off delivery but only managed to get an outside edge and handed an easy catch to the keeper. He again walked out to bat in the last session of day 2 and received a great reception from the Chennai crowd.
He was looking good in the middle but was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz on 17 runs. The Bangladeshi spinner bowled a full delivery to Kohli and he got forward to clip it through the on-side but got beaten on the inside edge to get rapped low on the front pad adjacent to the off-stump. He had a word with Shubman Gill and decided to not review. But there was a spike on ultra edge and even Kohli didn’t know it.
