New Delhi: Adil Rashid scripted history on Saturday as he became the first-ever spinner from England to claim 200 wickets in the ODIs. Rashid achieved the feat during the second ODI match against Australia at Headingley, Leeds. The leg-spinner dismissed Glenn Maxwell (7) in the 28th over of the first innings to complete the milestone.
While Rashid has become the first spinner from England to achieve this feat, Moeen Ali and Graeme Swann are the only other two spin bowlers to take more than 100 wickets in the ODIs. Ali has claimed 111 wickets while Swann comes after him with 104 wicket to his name. Rashid shined in the match for the hosts by taking two wickets and giving away just 42 runs in his stipulated 10 overs.
