The most expensive player of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11 is Sachin Tanwar. He was sold for a whopping Rs. 2.15 crores by Tamil Thalaivas. Sachin was born in a farming family in a small village known Badbar, Rajasthan. Sachin has had an interest in the sport from his childhood days, he also had a dream of joining the Army but his brother Deepak, who is dedicated to Kabaddi had sparked Sachin’s heart to take an interest in the game.
The first major point in Sachin’s life came when his brother was selected in the youth tournament in 2015 but his brother suffered an injury and had to pull out of the tournament. With Deepak was sideline an opportunity arose for Sachin’s kabaddi career. From then he started off well in Kabaddi and worked on his skills.
Sachin captained the Indian team in the Junior Asian championship in Iran in 2016 when he was just 17 years old. He led the Indian team to a gold medal by defeating Iran in the final. Sachin was picked earlier in the PKL but with age restrictions, he couldn’t make it to the PKL.
Sachin’s PKL journey started with Gujarat Giants in 2017, In his debut season he managed 174 points and took a great start to his career in the PKL. Sachin lauded PKL and Mashal Sports that they gave him many opportunities and was very proud to captain a PKL side. Sachin was filled with pride when he got to know that many kids in his village started playing Kabaddi after being inspired by him. He also encouraged young kids to do a ‘dubki’ move.
After achieving success in the PKL, he also got the opportunity to serve as a sub-inspector in the Rajasthan Police. Coming from a farming family and now captaining a PKL side, his story shows how sports changed the life of a player and players like him inspired many young lads to achieve more in life.
