‘Best news on perfect day’: Suryakumar congratulates Rohit on becoming a father

New Delhi: India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav congratulated Rohit Sharma on the arrival of his second baby, late on Friday night. Rohit and his wife Ritika Sajdeh welcomed a baby boy on November 15 in Mumbai. Although, there was no official confirmation from neither him or his wife, but several reports floated on social media announcing the arrival of their second child.

The couple, who are already parents to their daughter Samaira, born in 2018, are yet to officially share the joyous news with their fans and followers. Meanwhile, Suryakumar, who’s considered to be pretty close to Rohit, congratulated him for embracing fatherhood for a second time.

In the post, Suryakumar mentioned that this news has come on a perfect day as India registered an emphatic win over South Africa to clinch the T20I series 3-1. “Many, many congratulations to him and his family. It’s the best news on a perfect day,” he said after India’s T20I series triumph against South Africa in Johannesburg on Friday.

“A guy from the family (Tilak Varma from Mumbai Indians) has also scored runs (120 not out off 47 balls). It’s a good thing. I wish him (Rohit) all the best for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy also,” he added.

Earlier, Rohit did not travel to Australia with the rest of the squad as Ritika was expecting their second child. With just a week left for the crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the much-awaited arrival of the baby, chances have brightened for Rohit’s participation in the series opener at Perth but nothing can be assured as of now.

While Rohit hasn’t been in the best of form but he would still any day be better than Abhimanyu Easwaran and even KL Rahul, who are his potentially replacements for the series opener on November 22.
