New Delhi: Afghanistan and Bangladesh will lock horns in the third and final ODI of the series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday. The Bangla Tigers grabbed the opportunity in the previous match to level the series and take things into the decider. The series is equally balanced and both Asian sides will be fighting tooth and nail to clinch the series 2-1 in Sharjah.
In the first ODI, Afghanistan showed their dominance and thrashed the Bangla Tigers by 92 runs. Afghanistan put up 235 batting first and Bangladesh could just muster 143 in their run-chase. In the second ODI, Bangladesh scored 252/7 while batting first, and a clear sign of change could be seen. Afghanistan fought well but the Bangla bowlers wrapped them up at 184 in 43.3 overs, winning the game by 68 runs.
Meanwhile, it has been understood that Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto won’t be a part of the third ODI as he was ruled out due to a groin injury. Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be the stand-in skipper.
