New Delhi: UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira called out middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis to become a two-division champion in the UFC. Pereira started his UFC career in the middleweight division and he defeated former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya to become middleweight champion but after becoming champion he lost the rematch against Izzy and lost the title. After being defeated by Izzy he moved up in the division and became the champion in Light heavyweight champion and defended his title suceessfully four times.
Recently, Du Plessis defeated Izzy to retain his title at UFC 305. Now Pereira posted a photo saying he will go down in the middleweight division one more time to become a two-division champion. Pereira is the eighth fighter to win the UFC title in two division but now is aiming to win two titles at the same time respectively.
“Hey Dricus, bring your will to fight me so you can prove that you are better than me,” Pereira said on his social media.
Pereira’s next fight is set for UFC 307 to defend his title against Khalil Rountree Jr. but before defending the title he challenged Du Plessis to give him a title shot one more time. Pereira is fighting his fourth fight in the last 11 months and he is one of the most active fighters currently in the UFC.

Du Plessis wants to move up the division and fight Pereira in his division for the Light heavyweight title and Pereira wants to become a double champ same as Du Plessis wants to do in the UFC. But Du Plessis defends his title only once after winning whereas Pereira defends his title for three times and Du Plessis will fight Sean Strickland next to defend his title. Pereira and Du Plessis both will be aiming to become sixth fighter to become double champ in UFC history.
