Justice Hema Commission was constituted in 2017 following the actress assault case in February in which Malayalam actor Dileep was one of the accused. Even though the commission submitted its report to the state government two years ago, the government has not revealed the details of the report. This has resulted in widespread discontentment among many women artists in the industry who had alleged that the government is colluding with perpetrators and trying to conceal the information and hence the truth.
