Ansu Fati sidelined again for four weeks as Barcelona’s injury woes continue

New Delhi: Barcelona confirms that Ansu Fati suffered a right hamstring injury while training and has been ruled out of action for almost a month. The forward already missed matches at the start of the season as he was suffering from a foot problem which follows a 2023-24 campaign on loan from Brighton that was also filled with several muscle injuries.

Fati’s injury nightmare continued as the club released an official statement on Wednesday stating that the forward had sustained a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of right thigh during training as a result he will be out of action for about four weeks.

The 22-year-old’s injury nightmare began four years ago with a meniscus tear in his knee that required surgery and was filled with a lot of complications derailing one of the most promising careers in recent Barca history. This injury adds to the drama as a player of big potential has to stay sidelined once again.

The forward is set to miss the Champions League match against French side Brest on November 26 as well as La Liga matches against Celta Vigo, Las Palmas, Mallorca and Real Betis. Ansu is expected to most likely return on December 15 at home against Leganes.

Other Barcelona injuries

Barcelona faces a string of injuries including the young talent Lamine Yamal, who recently broke Ansu Fati’s record as the club’s youngest-ever player and goalscorer. Yamal will be sidelined for around three weeks due to an ankle injury. Meanwhile, experienced forward Robert Lewandowski has sustained a back injury and has even pulled out Poland’s upcoming Nations League games against Portugal and Scotland.

Adding to the team’s injury woes, key players such as Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo, Eric García and Marc Bernal are also out of action.

The 22-year-old Spain international has suffered numerous injury problems over recent seasons and the nightmare continues.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
