New Delhi: The much-anticipated Australian Open 2025 is all set to get underway on January 12 and will see a significant rise in the prize money for all the winners across events. The champions are set to receive unprecedented amounts of prize money as the organisers have decided to increase the overall prize pool by 11.56% for the upcoming edition.

The overall prize pool for the Australian Open 2025 has been increased to 96.5 Australian dollars (approximately $59.90 million), making the current edition the most lucrative one in the history of the Australian Open. The first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open will mark the start of the 2025 season and will see the best players from across the world fight for the titles across events.

In men’s singles, Serbian ace Novak Djokovic will be gunning for a record-shattering 25th Grand Slam title and will be aiming to become the first player in tennis history to reach 25 titles. In women’s singles, defending champion Aryna Sabalenka will once again start as a favourite and will be looking to pull off a successful title defence against the likes of Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina among others.

How much will singles champions earn at Australian Open 2025?

The winner of the men’s singles and women’s singles titles at the Australian Open 2025 will receive A$3.5 million ($2.17 million) each, marking a significant increase from the A$3.15 million that was given to 2024 champions Janik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka. This is the highest prize money offered to singles champions in the history of the Australian Open.

Meanwhile, the runners-up in men’s singles and women’s singles at the Australian Open 2025 will pocket A$1.9 million each. The players will be awarded A$132,000 for making it to the first round and A$200,000 for qualifying for the second round in both singles categories.

Those who make it to the 3rd round of the singles events will earn A$290,000 while those qualifying for the Round of 16 will pocket A$420,000. The quarter-finalists will be awarded A$665,000 while those reaching the semi-finals will get A$1.1 million.

In the men’s and women’s doubles categories, the winning pair will be awarded A$810,000 per pair, while the runner-up will pocket A$440,000. In mixed doubles, the winners will earn A$175,000 as a pair. The first round of the tournament will kick off on January 12 with the men’s singles final set to be played on January 26.
