The Sydney Test between India and Australia will be celebrated as the Pink Test to raise awareness regarding cancer. Day 3 of the Test match will commemorate ‘Jane McGrath Day’ which is celebrated in honour of McGrath’s ex-wife Jane, who lost her life after a battle with breast cancer in 2008. The McGrath Foundation, which was co-founded by Glenn and Jane in 2005, has since been working towards raising awareness regarding breast cancer in rural regions of Australia.

On Day 3 of the Sydney Test, the Australian team would wear pink caps to extend their support for McGrath Foundation while the Indian team will be seen wearing pink ribbons on their jerseys in support of the initiative. The fans will also sport pink in the stands to showcase their support for the great cause.

India in a must-win situation in Sydney Test

The 5th and final Test in Sydney is a must-win game for India after the visitors suffered a crushing 184-run defeat in the recently concluded 4th Test at the MCG in Melbourne. Australia went 2-1 up in the five-match series with their thumping victory while also crushing India’s hopes of qualifying for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2024-25 final.

India need to win the 5th Test in Sydney to remain alive in the race for the WTC final. The series is also on the line for the visitors as a loss at the SCG would see Australia clinch the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1.
