Babar Azam to take ‘legal action’ against former Pakistan players on ‘misconduct’ allegations

New Delhi: According to reports, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is considering legal action against the former cricketers and YouTubers after they accused him of ‘misconduct’ during the T20 World Cup 2024.

Babar and his team faced heavy criticism from the fans and former cricketers after they got knocked out of the T20 World Cup group stage. The Men in Green faced defeats from co-hosts USA and arch-rivals India.

The reports indicated that an alleged social media campaign targeting Babar Azam left him feeling disheartened during Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign. Reports further added that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also looking for evidence related to the accusations made by former cricketers and YouTubers.

Several team members of Pakistan’s squad including Naseem Shah, Usman Khan and senior manager Wahab Riaz returned to Lahore while some players extended their stay in the USA after the early exit from the T20 World Cup.

Many former cricketers have criticised Babar Azam’s captaincy and batting approach in the tournament. During a show ‘Haarna Mana Hai’ on Geo News Ahmed Shehzad called the Pakistan skipper a ‘Fraud King’ while many YouTubers also trolled him with some personal remarks which created a big controversy on social media.
