New Delhi: The 3rd Test between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane has been marred continuously by rain. The bad weather has resulted in multiple delays over the first three days of the Test match and has also led to the loss of a significant amount of overs. While only 13.2 overs of action was possible on Day 1, there were no rain interruptions on Day 2.
However, rain played spoilsport once again on Day 3 of the Test match on Tuesday as India laboured to 51/4 at stumps. On a rain-marred day, Australia continued their domination as Alex Carey’s brilliant 70-run knock powered the hosts to a huge total of 445 runs in their first innings before the pacers ran riot to reduce India to tatters with the new ball.
However, only 17 overs of action was possible during India’s first innings on Day 3 as frequent rain interruptions eventually led to the play getting called up due to bad light and weather. Both teams will hope for some mercy from the rain gods on Day 4 of the Test match, however, the weather forecast in Brisbane doesn’t look promising.
