New Delhi: Team India scripted a famous win against Bangladesh as they beat them 2-0 in the home Test series in Kanpur on Tuesday. The second and final Test match, which was heavily affected by the unseasonal Kanpur weather, saw the hosts forcing a win over their neighbours by even wickets. A draw was clearly on the cards after the second and the third day were called off due to rain but Team India pulled off a clinical victory on the final day.
It was a straight 18th Test series win for India at home, reaffirming that they are a force to be reckoned with and not just that… the team went on to claim several records at the end of the game. One such record has surfaced which makes it crystal clear that the Indian team, with its modern-day approach in Tests, is the heavyweight among the rest of the cricket-playing nations.
Taking into account the number of wins by each Test-playing team since 2016, India have surpassed England by winning 53 Test matches and what makes it even more astounding is the number of games India took. The Indian team, after the conclusion of the Kanpur Test, has featured in 86 Tests and has claimed 53 games, having lost 21 and drawn 12 of those. Their winning percentage currently stands at 61.6.
England, who are second in tally, took 111 games since 2016 to bag 52 wins, losing 44 and drawing out 15. Their winning percentage is 46.8. They are followed by Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand (sequentially).

Other records India bagged…
The win in Kanpur was 180th for India in Tests as they sit fourth on the list of most wins in the longer format. They also entered the list of teams who won the game with the least balls batted. India batted for a mere 52 overs (312 balls) to win the game and are fourth in this list as well. The team also registered the highest run rate i.e. 7.36, in a Test (both innings combined) and their same record in India stands at 4.39.
The team also made it to the list of those teams that claimed a victory in the Test game whose minimum two days of play wasn’t possible. This makes it clear that given any number of days, the Indian team knows how to make a game out of any situation.
Team India claimed several records after beating Bangladesh 2-0 in the home Test series on Monday. One such record has surfaced which clearly tells the Men In Blue’s dominance in Test cricket. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
