Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday hit out at Congress and Rahul Gandhi over BRS MLA, MLC defections.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, he said, “After seven months of forming the government, they haven’t fulfilled even one promise. The six guarantees disappeared and the Congress took away six of our MLAs, six MLCs and one Rajya Sabha MP. It’s ironic that the man who says he is the protector of the constitution, also exploits the constitution mercilessly.”
He further said, “Rahul ji, you cannot run with hares and hunt with hounds. You can’t have it both ways. Congress party is the mothership of this double speak and hypocrisy. Now we are going to expose your doublespeak in Rajya Sabha. We will go to the Supreme Court regarding defections.”
In recent times, BRS has seen an exodus of lawmakers to Congress, including six MLAs, six MLCs and 1 MP along with many other local leaders.
On Monday, another BRS MLC Challa Venkatrami Reddy met Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence, triggering speculation of him joining Congress.
