Chennai: Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker M Appavu on Friday announced that the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will commence on June 24. “The session to discuss the Demand for Grants in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will commence at 10 am on June 24. On the first day of the meeting, the meeting will be adjourned to condole the death of the Vikravandi legislator,” Speaker M Appavu said.
Following this, further discussions will take place on the departmental grant requests of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. After this, the committee will meet under the chairmanship of Speaker Appavu and decide on the number of days to hold the meeting. The legislative session, which will begin on June 24, is expected to last for about 25 days.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly budget session started on 12th February this year. As it was the first session of the year, Governor RN Ravi delivered a speech. He finished his speech in 2 minutes without reading the speech prepared by the state government that had triggered a controversy. The Governor clarified that he would not read it because it contained various ideas that were against morality.
