Manchester United looking to trim down first-team squad
Manchester United might have released only three first-team players after their disappointing campaign last season, but reportedly no player is safe as the Red Devils aim for a major rebuild ahead of the new season. United have already signed Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are close to bringing in Cameroon forward Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Both Cunha and Mbeumo are proven performers in the Premier League and are expected to bolster United’s attacking depth after their goal-scoring woes last season. However, the duo’s arrival would mean United are likely to let go of several forwards like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Aleajdro Garnacho and Antony, among others.
United are also seraching for a proven striker in the transfer market and have been linked with a move for Sporting CP’s goal machine Viktor Gyokeres, whose arrival might led to the departure of Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund from the club. It remains to be seen which players will be offloaded by the club as they prepare for the pre season in a bid to bounce back next season.
