New Delhi: Anshul Kamboj smashed his maiden first-class fifty and picked up two wickets as his all-round show headlined Day 4 of the 2nd unofficial Test between India A and England Lions, which ended in a draw on Monday, June 09. Kamboj and Tanush Kotian slammed half-centuries apiece to help India A post 417/7 (declared) in their second innings, before England Lions were reduced to 32/2 in 11 overs.
India A resumed their innings from 163/4 in the morning session on Day 4 with Dhruv Jurel and Nitish Reddy taking charge. Jurel was caught by James Rew off the bowling of Eddie Jack after scoring 28 off 51 balls, while Reddy played a fluent knock of 42 runs off 78 deliveries before getting cleaned up by George Hill. Shardul Thakur too made a useful contribution of 34 runs, however, the tail-enders impressed the most.
Spinner Kotian top-scored for India A in their second innings as he slammed an unbeaten 90, laced with 10 fours and six. Meanwhile, Kamboj remained unbeaten on 51 off 86 deliveries as the duo put on an unbeaten stand of 149 runs for the eighth wicket. Their partnership helped India declare their innings on 417/7 after Tea on Day 4 to set up a huge 439-run target for England Lions.
