Milwaukee: Donald Trump‘s running mate JD Vance on Thursday, stepping up the ante against the Democrats, said that the Republican Presidential candidate was a victim of all the “lies” and hate spread over the years. Speaking on Day 3 at the 2024 Republican National Convention, Vance said, “Consider the lies they told you about Donald Trump and look at the picture of him defiant, fist in the air, Donald Trump rose to his feet and all of America stood with him.” With Trump seated next to Vance’s wife Usha, the VP candidate told a cheering crowd that even in Trump’s “most perilous moment” he called on everyone to “fight.”
Reminding the crowd that this day could have easily turned into a “day of heartache and mourning instead of a day of celebration,” Vance said that Trump chose to leave an easy path and a successful business to take on a path filled with abuses, slander and persecution just “because he loved the country.” For the last eight years President Trump has given everything to fight for this country. He didn’t need politics but the country needed him,” added Vance.

Applauding the role played by the South Asian community in uplifting and enriching America, Vance heaped praises on his wife Usha Chilukuri Vance. Vance’s remarks came as he officially accepted the Republican Party’s nomination to be vice president of the United States in the November 5 presidential poll.
“I am married to the daughter of South Asian immigrants to this country, incredible people, people who genuinely have enriched the country in so many ways,” Vance, 39, said in his impressive acceptance speech on the third day of the 4-day Republican National Convention, adding, “And of course, I’m biased, because I love my wife, but I believe that it’s true. When I proposed to my wife, we were in law school, and I said, Honey, I come with USD 120,000 worth of law school debt and a cemetery plot on a mountainside in eastern Kentucky.”
Vance said he met his “beautiful wife” Usha at Yale University. “Tonight I’m joined by my beautiful wife, Usha, an incredible lawyer and a better mom,” he said.
Usha, a graduate of Yale Law School, is a civil litigation attorney at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP.
