On Sunday in Miami, Colombia will play Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, in the regional championship final.
In a fiercely contested semi-final in Charlotte on Thursday, Colombia prevailed 1-0, making Uruguay pay for their inefficient offensive play. Even though they were down to 10 men for over 45 minutes, Colombia managed to maintain their lead and earn a trip to the championship game against the reigning champions, Argentina.

However, the tournament favourites and the defending champions Argentina were able to cruise past the Canadian side as they beat them 2-0 to break the Canadian hearts. It was Julian Alvarez who scored the first goal before Leonel Messi scored the second goal to give Argentina the cushion. That goal also made him the second highest international goal scorer after Cristiano Ronaldo.
