New Delhi: Cristiano Ronaldo has ruled out the January window transfer away from Al-Nassr anytime soon and is determined to win the Saudi Pro League trophy with the club. The Portuguese star’s contract at Al-Nassr is set to expire at the end of the season, and speculation is high that the 39-year-old might be in search of a new club for his next challenge and make a return to Europe.
Ronaldo is working on a record-breaking £177 million-a-year deal and has said that he is enjoying his time in Saudi Arabia and that his family is happy there. While speaking to the Saudi Pro League’s official media channels, he said, “We started a new life in this beautiful country. Life is good, football is good. In terms of individual and collective, we are still there. We are still improving.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has failed to achieve significant silverware across his stint with Al-Nassr despite scoring goals continuously. Even in this season, he has scored 16 goals so far and said that he is determined to add to his medal tally before any long-term future plans get drawn.
Discussing the intense competition in the league, he acknowledged the challenge of keeping up with teams like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad. However, he emphasized that his team remains determined, constantly striving and battling. He pointed out that football is a sport in which you hit both highs and lows, but what truly matters is maintaining professionalism, staying committed, honouring the club and its values, and having faith that circumstances will improve. CR7 believes that Al Nassr will continue competing and will definitely secure more titles.
What next?
Al-Nassr will return to action on 9th January when they take on Al Akhdoud in the Saudi Pro League, and the Champions League will return on 3rd February against Al-Wasl. Ronaldo and his teammates will look to start the year on a winning note after enjoying a festive winter break.
Cristiano Ronaldo dismisses transfer rumors, focusing on Al-Nassr’s Saudi Pro League title ambitions. The Portuguese star eyes silverware before contract ends. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
