New Delhi: The greatest of all time does it yet again for his Portuguese side as Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 906th career goal against Poland in the third matchday of Nations League 2024/25 campaign. Credit where it’s due, it was a wonderful run by the AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, who is looking much more confident than ever, playing for his nation.
It was Leao who made it all happen after he made a wonderful run from his own half, beating four Polish defenders, only to hit the far post once he took the shot, where Ronaldo was their to score Portugal’s second goal of the game. It also confirmed that the veteran now has scored a mammoth record total of 906 goals in his career.

Poland’s comeback in the Nations League was crushed as Portugal’s icons made it nine points from of a possible nine. Portugal managed to put up a wonderful team performance, where the players showed great maturity and urgency on the pitch. After an exquisite team move, it was Bernardo Silva who gave the Portuguese the lead in the 26th minute.
Then came the moment that every Portuguese fan was waiting for as Ronaldo tapped in the second goal after Rafael Leao’s unbelievable run and attempt that eventually cannoned against the post in the 37th minute of the game. With 12 minutes left to play, Piotr Zielinski put the visitors in a nerve wracking situation by beating Diogo Costa to make it 2-1 and give the Polish fans some hope, but Jan Bednarek’s own goal in the 88th minute ended up winning it for Roberto Martinez’s side.
Portugal managed to sink Poland, 3-1 as they continued their dominant run, where they have managed to win all three of their group games so far.
