In order to clear the mystery, we have got an expert to answer this, who explained the relationship between almonds and kidney stones and provided us with the needed insights.

Almond milk is a very good alternative for those with lactose intolerance.”
How much almonds you must consume?
The recommended daily intake of almonds is a Handful (of 20-23 almonds/day). A handful of overnight water-soaked almonds with at least 2.5 L/day of water & low salt diet is a good healthy dietary option sans the risk of developing oxalate stones.
Can almonds lead to kidney stones?
“Almonds can be consumed in various forms like roasted almonds, salted almonds & almond milk etc. However, the almonds we consume are high in oxylates. Hence excess consumption can lead to the formation of oxalate stones in the kidney especially in those people predisposed to hyperoxaluria(inherited form or secondary one). So consumption of almonds should be in moderation, along with a low oxalate diet & diets rich in calcium,” said Dr Prasad.
Soaking almonds in water overnight will reduce the oxalate content. Also, the commercially available almond milk is low in oxalate.
