Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • ½ cup paneer
  • ¼ cup oats
  • ¼ cup chopped onions
  • ¼ cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1-2 green chillies
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Oil or ghee for cooking

Steps to make at home: 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine besan, oats, turmeric, salt, and water to form a smooth, flowing batter.
  2. Mix in the paneer, onions, tomatoes, chillies, and coriander and stir well.
  3. Place a non-stick or iron tawa on medium heat and add a few drops of oil or ghee.
  4. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it in a circular shape.
  5. Drizzle a little oil on the sides. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
  6. Make more chillas with the remaining batter.
