New Delhi: Australia will look to continue their winning run when they lock horns with Phil Salt-led England in a three-match T20I series that gets underway on Wednesday, September 111. While England will return to action in T20Is for the first time since the T20 World Cup 2024 earlier this year, Australia are heading into the series on the back of a 3-0 series win against Scotland.
The first T20I will be played at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Wednesday followed by the next two matches in Cardiff and Manchester, respectively. Both teams will be looking to get off to a winning start to take an early advantage in the series.
The likes of Josh Inglis, Cameron Green and Travis Head were in good form against Scotland, but the Aussies would need their batting line-up to fire as a unit against England. Skipper Mitchell Marsh along with the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis will hope to join the party against the hosts. Meanwhile, England too have fielded a strong squad for the series.
After Moeen Ali’s retirement, all-rounders Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone are set for more responsibilities while skipper Salt will have to provide good starts at the top. Salt is also one of the batters to watch out for in the series having already proven his mettle in T20Is. The series promises to be a cracker of a contest between the two teams.
