New Delhi: Denmark and England play their second Group C fixture of the UEFA Euro 2024 later tonight at the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt in what is a rematch of the UEFA Euro 2020 semi-final. Both the teams played a thrilling match that ended 2-1 in favour of England.
Gareth Southgate’s men emerged victorious on that day and they’ll be aiming for a similar result here as they look to secure their progression to the knockout stages at the expense of Denmark, once again. England laboured through a 1-0 win against Serbia on matchday one and looked weak for most of the game. Southgate will be looking to address that in today’s match as they will also want to better their performances, keeping in mind that they’ll be facing relatively stronger teams in the knockouts.
Denmark were the surprise package of the UEFA Euro 2020 and they will be hoping to repeat their heroics from last time around. They started strongly in the game against Slovenia, dominating most of the game and creating a host of chances but couldn’t find their shooting boots which ultimately cost them three points. Denmark conceded late on in the game and they’ll be looking to rectify those problems that plagued them in their previous match.
The game between these two sides is sure to provide fans with a lot of excitement and fun and will be a crucial one for both sides as England want to secure qualification to the next round with a win whereas a loss for Denmark would all but end their chances to progress to the knockout stages.
