New Delhi: Krunal Pandya’s 47-ball 73 not out and a disciplined bowling effort guided Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a six-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in an IPL 2025 match on Sunday.
RCB won the toss and opted to field with experienced seamers Bhuveshwar Kumar (3/33) and Josh Hazlewood (2/36) getting support from Pandya (1/28) and Yash Dayal (1/42) to restrict hosts Delhi to 162 for 8 at the Arun Jaitley stadium.
India batter KL Rahul top-scored with a 39-ball 41 but Delhi lost wickets at regular intervals until Tristan Stubbs blasted an 18-ball 34 to pull them to a competitive total of 162 for 8.
But it proved too little as RCB reached their target in 18.3 overs overs with Pandya (73 not out) and Virat Kohli (51) making bulk of the scoring. Tim David then put finishing touched to their chase with 19 not out off five deliveries and scored the winning runs too.
For Delhi, skipper Axar Patel (2/19) was the only bowler to make a mark.
