New Delhi: Rajkumar Sharma, who coached star Indian batter Virat Kohli during his childhood, has confirmed that the Delhi lad is set to move to London with his family soon. Kohli, along with wife Anushka Sharma and children Vamika and Akaay, will shift his base to the United Kingdom, as per Sharma, who didn’t dwell much on any further details. The ex-coach hinted that Kohli will leave India for the UK where he eventually plans to spend his post-retirement life.
India have seen very little of Virat Kohli and his family in the last couple of years as he has been spotted in London frequently. It is for a fact that their second child Akaay was born in the city earlier this year, in February. The couple is reported to own a property in London and will most likely settle there once they completely shift.
“Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon. However, right now, Kohli is spending most of his time with his family apart from cricket,” Sharma told Dainik Jagran in a conversation.
Frequent London visits
Kohli was in London for the most part of this year with his family. After the birth of his son, Kohli returned after India lifted the T20 World Cup in June.
He did return for the ODI series against Sri Lanka in July but boarded the flight to UK thereafter and stayed there till August. He only returned to India for the start of the home Test season – two Tests against Bangladesh, followed by a three-Test series against New Zealand, which India lost 0-3. Since then, Kohli and his family have remained in India as he celebrated his birthday on November 5 with his loved ones.
Kohli currently features for Team India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia and will be next seen in the big assignment which is the Champions Trophy 2025. It remains to be seen when Kohli will plan his next trip to London. It can be post-conclusion of the BGT and before the start of the Champions Trophy or if Kohli opts to stay in India till the CT25, he might visit London right before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Virat Kohli’s childhood coach has confirmed that the start Indian cricketer will soon bid adieu to the country to permanently shift his base to the United Kingdom with his family. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
